During a meeting in Toumodi, Idrissa Koné revealed concerning information regarding the attempted assassination of Amédé Kouakou’s brother during the civil disobedience in Côte d’Ivoire.
Indeed, the most significant revelations from the mayor of Toumodi were about personal threats and alleged assassination attempts on certain individuals. Furthermore, he highlighted that several political figures were forced to leave the city using unusual means, such as helicopters and gendarmerie intervention.
The brother of Minister Amédé Kouakou, Charles, reportedly survived a premeditated death by fleeing the region as his life was in danger. As a reminder, the disturbances that occurred during the period of civil disobedience in Côte d’Ivoire exposed divisions within the population of Toumodi between supporters and opponents of a third term.
According to the mayor, the situation escalated, leading to tragic violence within the community between the Baoulé and Dioula groups. Unfortunately, at least six people lost their lives, and significant material damage was caused by these clashes.
