Ivorian web comedian Apoutchou National has been inconsolable since Friday, November 17. The reason behind his grief is that he lost a sports bet following the victory of the Ivory Coast national team, the Elephants, against Seychelles.

Apoutchou National, the son of Ivorian actress Bleu Brigitte and an avid sports bettor, often places high stakes on his favorite teams during football matches. Unfortunately, this time luck was not on his side.

For the Ivory Coast versus Seychelles match, which took place on November 17 at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Ebimpé and counted towards qualification for the joint 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the Ivorian influencer and singer wagered a sum of 1,200,000 CFA francs on the victory of the national team.

Unfortunately, Apoutchou National lost this considerable amount. The reason being that he bet on a victory for the Ivory Coast Elephants with an option of fewer than 5.5 goals during the game. However, Jean-Louis Gasset’s team crushed Seychelles with a score of 9-0.

Even before the end of the match, Apoutchou National had commented, “The Ivory Coast hasn’t scored 6 goals since forever, I hope it’s not because of my small bet that you will score six goals.” Shortly after, he expressed his disappointment at the end of the match, saying, “That Seychelles goalkeeper should go to hell. This scoundrel, they scored 9-zero, forgive me for using my money, come and pay for the tickets to my concert because I don’t have the money anymore.”

It is worth noting that this is the second time that Bleu Brigitte’s son has lost a sports bet. In April of this year, he bet 1,800,000 CFA francs on Real Madrid’s victory against Girona and 2,000,000 CFA francs on FC Barcelona’s victory against Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish league, where both teams were respectively defeated 4-2 and 2-1.
