On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in the city of Gagnoa, located in the central-west region of Ivory Coast, a taxi was involved in a serious road accident during ongoing traffic, resulting in casualties.
According to the National Civil Protection Office’s platform, in the midday hours of Tuesday, a communal taxi caused four casualties in front of the Bamba building in the Dioulabougou neighborhood of Gagnoa. A pedestrian was violently hit by a taxi whose driver lost control of the steering wheel.
Upon their arrival at the scene, firefighters from the Gôh Rescue Center reported the presence of four casualties, including a three-year-old child who was treated and transported to the general hospital of Gagnoa.
As a reminder, a 6-year-old girl was hit by a communal taxi the day before at the Sénoufo mosque in the Dioulabougou neighborhood. She was evacuated to the Gagnoa hospital by civil firefighters in the presence of the police after receiving bandages for her injuries to the leg and head.
