Do you find yourself constantly dealing with fruit flies invading your kitchen? To put an end to the endless chase, here’s a foolproof recipe to get rid of them once and for all!
Fruit flies are tiny insects that can test your patience when they invade your kitchen. They are fond of humidity, potting soil, stagnant water, organic waste, and ripe fruits. They lay their eggs and multiply rapidly, especially in warm weather. To prevent an invasion, we have a solution for you.
The apple cider vinegar trap is a simple yet highly effective method to catch and eliminate fruit flies. Here’s what you’ll need:
- A small glass or jar
- Apple cider vinegar
- Dish soap
- Plastic wrap
- Rubber band
- Toothpick
Preparation and Instructions:
- Pour a small amount of apple cider vinegar into the glass or jar, filling it to about half an inch deep.
- Add a few drops of dish soap to the vinegar and gently mix. The soap breaks the surface tension of the liquid, preventing fruit flies from escaping once they land.
- Cover the glass or jar with plastic wrap, securing it with the rubber band.
- Use the toothpick to poke several small holes in the plastic wrap. The holes should be big enough for fruit flies to enter but not too large for them to easily escape.
- Place the trap in areas where fruit flies are most active, such as near your fruit bowl or compost bin.
This trap will attract and trap fruit flies, significantly reducing their population in your kitchen. Repeat the process as needed until you have successfully eliminated the fruit flies.
