Ivorian influencer, Apoutchou National, shares a slice of his personal story, revealing that he left his job after earning a substantial prize of 30 million CFA francs.
Stéphane Agbré, better known by his pseudonym Apoutchou National, is an Ivorian influencer and blogger who has recently opened up about intimate details of his personal life. Prior to his rise in popularity, he worked as a security agent in France, spending his free time hosting live shows on Facebook. During these live streams, he discussed hot current affairs and did not hold back in criticizing certain public figures, which contributed to his current notoriety.
Typically, his salary would range between 800 and 900 euros per month. However, his financial status took an unexpected turn when his bank notified him of receiving a significantly larger amount, a major change attributable to his burgeoning career as an influencer. This new professional chapter is partly thanks to the cultural legacy of his mother, actress Brigitte Bleu, who arguably opened doors for him in the entertainment and influencer spheres.
“I was at work and I received about ten calls from my bank. In fact, I bank with La Poste. When you don’t have the papers yet, the only way to have money is through La Poste. They give you a savings book. So, I finish, I call back and they say: ‘Hello, Mr. Agbre! We are calling because we don’t understand. Usually, you earn 800, 900 euros. But now, we see 47,000 euros. We would like to know where this sum comes from.’ I reply, ‘What are you talking about? Are you sure you’re not mistaken?’ They tell me no, it’s indeed me,” the blogger shared.
Apoutchou National then realized that the large sum came from Facebook and that it was a reward for his live streams. “So, I go into my email, I see a payment form from Facebook. The moment I saw that, normally, I finish at 2 PM, but I told the boss that I have an emergency and that I am sick. I run, I go to the bank, they tell me the amount I received. I give them the Facebook paper, the payment slip. They say they’re going to process it for 72 hours. When the time came, I’m told the money is in my account, and I can use it. As soon as they told me that, it was a Friday,” added Apoutchou National.
The influencer got a taste for it and submitted his resignation from his security job. He then set himself the goal of being counted among Ivory Coast’s millionaires by doing Facebook live streams exclusively. “On Monday, I wrote my resignation and gave it to my boss. He says, ‘But why? You work well.’ I replied, ‘Eeh me, I say that I resign.’ That’s when ‘Share the live’ really began. I started doing 2 to 3 live streams per day. I talked about everything, I took on everyone. But at a certain point, you say to yourself that you have to change your editorial line. At the beginning, it weighed on me, I stopped a lot of things, but I was at peace with my conscience,” concluded Brigitte Bleu’s son.
