In exile, former minister Valentin Djènontin has intensified his criticisms of Patrice Talon’s regime. This activism has earned him criticism in return. Some believe that he harbors hatred towards the head of state, but according to the opposition figure, this is not the case.
Valentin Djènontin clarifies his positions against Patrice Talon’s regime. “In a new publication, he responded to those who ask him to keep silent or moderate his criticisms of the management of the rupture regime. I understand your concern, and I want to emphasize that I never had the intention to deliberately harm Patrice Talon’s regime. I told him this in person, provided that he fully exercises his role as Head of State by working for the well-being of the population,” he declared.
The former Minister of Justice explains that his ultimate goal through his media interventions is to “contribute to the harmonious and inclusive development of my country, Benin.”
Despite the difficulties and humiliations that my family and I endure due to the actions of Patrice Talon and his regime, I have never harbored hatred towards him (Patrice Talon).

The exiled opposition figure believes that his “objective and constructive criticisms” constitute his commitment to the success of President Patrice Talon’s government.
