After 4 years of absence, former deputy Atao Hinnouho returned to Cotonou in grand style on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Departing in a wheelchair and under condemnation, he justified why he participated in organizing a demonstration for his welcome.
In front of his supporters and sympathizers, Atao Hinnouho publicly spoke for the first time since his medical evacuation. After expressing gratitude to God, the former deputy addressed the crowd in the Goun language at the Midombo sports field in Akpakpa.
According to his words, he decided not to return in secret to dispel suspicions. This choice of a triumphant return is also justified by his desire to share his joy with his supporters. “I have decided not to hug the walls to get in. If I return without publicly appearing before you, people will say that I came back in a wheelchair,” he asserted.
From this experience, the former deputy drew a great lesson. “When you fall into a difficult situation, do your best to rise again,” he proclaimed to the crowd.
