The news of his passing was announced by Ghanaian media on Thursday and confirmed by the Empowerment Worship Center production house, where the illustrious departed individual worked as a junior pastor.
The causes of his death have not been disclosed, but the hip-hop star had been grappling with kidney disease. This ailment had been afflicting him since 2021, for which he was undergoing dialysis treatment.
Born Andy Nii Akrashie, OJ Blaq commenced his music career in the early 2000s and released his debut album, “The Blaq Mixtape,” in 2006. He subsequently released several other albums and singles, including his hit song “Chalewote.”
