On Tuesday, September 19th, the President of the Gabonese transitional government made his first foreign trip. General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema visited Equatorial Guinea, where he met with his counterpart, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema.
In Gabon, the transitional President, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, is on a “friendly and fraternal” visit to Equatorial Guinea since September 19, 2023. Taking place in a climate of simmering diplomatic tensions between the two neighboring countries, this first foreign visit by the new leader of Libreville is crucial for easing relations with President Teodoro Obiang Nguema.

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. Our discussions focused on bilateral cooperation between Gabon and his country, as well as on matters of common interest,” tweeted the new leader of Gabon on the morning of September 20th.
“I am pleased with the excellence of relations between our two countries, relations that we are determined to further strengthen. I also had the pleasure of meeting with the Gabonese community in Malabo, with whom I had a constructive exchange,” added the Gabonese transitional President.
