The CEEAC had previously announced the suspension of Gabon from all its bodies following the military coup that occurred on August 30, during which General Brice Oligui Nguema seized power, overthrowing President Ali Bongo, who had just claimed victory in the presidential election on August 26. General Oligui Nguema was sworn in before the members of the Constitutional Court, becoming the country’s president for a transitional period, without a specific duration being set.
