Togolese Foreign Minister Prof Robert Dussey attended the Group of 77 Developing Countries (G77) Summit in Havana, Cuba, over the weekend.
The G77 and China, a coalition of more than a hundred countries from Asia, Africa, and Latin America representing nearly 80% of the world’s population, gathered in Havana to advocate for a “new international economic order.”
This international meeting held in Cuba provided a platform for strategic exchanges and discussions among G77 and China member nations. The main objective was to promote a more equitable international economic order and defend the interests of developing nations.
During his participation in the summit, Togolese Minister Prof Dussey took the opportunity to meet with Alpidio Alonso Grau, the Cuban Minister of Culture. At the heart of their discussions were preparations for the 9th Pan-African Congress, scheduled to take place next year in Lome, the capital of Togo.
The chosen theme for this congress, “Renewal of Pan-Africanism and Africa’s Place in Global Governance: Mobilizing Resources and Reinventing Ourselves to Take Action,” demonstrates Togo’s commitment to playing a leading role in promoting African solidarity and finding solutions to global challenges.
Minister Robert Dussey’s participation in the G77 Summit in Cuba highlights Togo’s commitment to active involvement on the international stage and promoting balanced cooperation among nations, in line with the goals of the G77 and China.
