Bayern Munich defeated AS Monaco (4-2) on Monday in a friendly match. The Bavarians continue their preparation with smiles, while the French team will have to regroup quickly before the start of the championship next weekend.
After a spectacular victory against Liverpool (4-3), Bayern Munich secured another win against AS Monaco (4-2) on Monday afternoon, continuing their preparations. However, it was the French team that opened the scoring in the 29th minute thanks to Minamino. The lead was short-lived as the reigning German champions quickly equalized. Well-served by Musiala, Laimer struck a beautiful shot into the top-right corner of the opponent’s goal (1-1, 31st minute).
After assisting in his team’s equalizing goal, the young prodigy Musiala added one of his own to put Bayern ahead (2-1, 42nd minute). The Germans even extended their lead just before half-time, with Serge Gnabry converting a penalty (3-1, 45th+2 minute). In the second half, Monaco attempted to revive the suspense by reducing the deficit with a well-taken penalty by Ben Yedder (3-2, 64th minute), but Bayern’s offensive prowess didn’t leave much room for hope. Leroy Sané scored the fourth and final goal for his team with a powerful low shot (4-2, 68th minute).
A fine victory for Bayern Munich as they officially start their season on Saturday, August 12, in the German Supercup against Leipzig. On the other hand, Monaco will have to quickly recover from this defeat before their first away match against Clermont in Ligue 1, which begins next weekend.
