For its second friendly match of the tour in Japan, PSG was defeated by the local club Cerezo Osaka with a score of 3-2.
It’s the first defeat for PSG under Luis Enrique’s era. During their pre-season tour in Japan, the French capital club was beaten by Cerezo Osaka, a team from J.League 1, with a score of 3-2. This defeat comes just a few days after a frustrating draw against Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team (1-1).
The reigning French champions opened the scoring in this game, thanks to Ekitike who capitalized on a shot from Zaïre-Emery (1-0, 17th minute). However, this lead was short-lived for Parisians. Following an unfortunate miscommunication between Danilo and Skriniar during a clearance by the opposing goalkeeper, Jordi Croux rushed towards Donnarumma and scored despite the desperate attempts of Skriniar and Marquinhos (1-1, 22nd minute). The score remained level at halftime.
After the break, PSG increased their momentum and took the lead again. Vitinha combined with Ekitike before beating the opposing goalkeeper from close range (2-1, 49th minute). It seemed that Luis Enrique’s men would dominate the game, but they underestimated their opponent who came back stronger. Kitano equalized with a half-volley (2-2, 68th minute), and then Shinji Kagawa secured the victory for the Japanese with a stunning shot into the top corner (2-3, 79th minute). PSG will conclude its tour in Japan this Tuesday against Inter Milan. A victory would be welcomed to boost their confidence.
