For its second match of the American tour, FC Barcelona achieved a convincing victory over Real Madrid with a score of 3-0.
This Saturday evening, football enthusiasts in general, and Americans in particular, witnessed another friendly Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Already victorious last year, Barcelona secured another win this time with a clear score of 3-0.
Despite Real Madrid starting strong with their new 4-midfield system, they lacked efficiency. On the other hand, the Blaugranas found the net with their first real chance. After a superb combination, initiated from a free-kick near the touchline, Pedri set up Ousmane Dembélé, who fired past Thibault Courtois (1-0, 15th minute).
Shortly after the opening goal, Real Madrid had the opportunity to equalize from a penalty, but Vinicius hit the crossbar (20th minute). Continuously dominant, the Merengue had another chance to level the score just before halftime. In a scramble near the Barcelona penalty area, Vinicius turned and struck from 10 meters, once again hitting the crossbar. Bellingham and Carvajal also missed their chances in the same action.
After the break, the pace of the game slowed down, but Aurélien Tchouameni woke up the stadium in the 62nd minute when he unleashed a powerful shot that crashed against the crossbar of ter Stegen. Fate seemed to be against Carlo Ancelotti’s men in this match. Finally, towards the end of the game, Fermi Lopez (85th minute) and Ferran Torres (90+1) sealed Barcelona’s victory (3-0).
FC Barcelona will face AC Milan next Wednesday in their final match of this American expedition. Meanwhile, Real Madrid will resume official competition on August 12th with the first match of La Liga against Bilbao.
