Before flying to Kinshasa, the 33 Togolese ambassadors to the 9th Francophonie Games were received on Monday by the Minister of Culture and his colleague in charge of social affairs.
The Togolese delegation, consisting of 14 athletes and 19 talented artists, is ready to participate in the 9th Francophonie Games, which will take place in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), from July 28 to August 6. Before their departure, the delegation members received warm encouragement from the Ministers of Culture and Social Affairs.
Through a solemn ceremony held at the main meeting hall of the Kégué Stadium, the national flag was handed over to the country’s ambassadors. On this occasion, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Dr. Kossi Gbenyo Lamadokou, expressed his wishes for success and called on the artists and athletes to defend the Togolese flag with honor, dignity, dedication, and determination, so that the image of Togo shines among the other nations of the Francophonie.
As a reminder, the Francophonie Games, held every 4 years under the auspices of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), are a multisport competition and a series of cultural contests, promising moments of celebration, competition, and exchange among participating nations.
