Alexandra Paul, a former Canadian figure skater, tragically lost her life last Tuesday in a car accident, as reported by Sky News.
The world of figure skating is immersed in sadness. Alexandra Paul, a former 31-year-old Olympic athlete, passed away last Tuesday in a tragic car accident that occurred in the township of Melanchthon, Ontario. According to Sky’s information, her car was struck violently by a truck while she was with her son. A total of seven vehicles were involved in this tragedy.
Fortunately, her 10-month-old child was taken to the hospital and does not seem to be in danger. Alexandra Paul was married to Mitchell Islam, her former competition partner. Together, they represented Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, earning the 18th place in the ice dance category and winning several medals in international competitions. After retiring from sports in 2016, she embarked on a new career and became a lawyer starting in 2021.
