Fernand Lopez, the husband of Charlotte Dipanda, recently claimed to have slapped his former wife in response to physical aggression towards their child. However, Cécile Giornelli vehemently denied these false allegations in a public statement. She stated that she had been a victim of repeated physical violence, even to the point of losing consciousness on two occasions.
Following his resounding victory against Jordan Zebo at PFL Paris last weekend, Cameroonian fighter Cédric Doumbé made a shocking statement regarding his former manager, Fernand Lopez. After the fight, he accused Lopez, who is also the husband of Cameroonian singer Charlotte Dipanda, of domestic violence against his ex-wife, Cécile Giornelli, who is a nutritionist.
“You know very well who took that KO, it wasn’t Jordan. The one who took that KO is the one who was hitting his ex-wife. It’s the violence against women that I KO, it’s the one who was hitting his wife when I was in his gym. That’s why I left that gym. It’s something I experienced live over the phone. I called the police and they intervened“, he declared.
Fernand Lopez quickly responded to his former protégé’s accusations in an interview with Le Parisien. It was later revealed that he had been sentenced to four months of probation. “My act is inexcusable. A human being, a man, does not raise his hand against a woman. One day, I committed that act. The act that I regret the most in my entire life“, he confessed.
Cécile Giornelli, the ex-wife of Fernand Lopez, expressed her discontentment after becoming aware of his version of events. She took to her Instagram account to set the record straight and criticize her former partner.
“I have remained silent and calm over all these years, but it is clear that I am still being tarnished and that a false life is being invented for me (…) You don’t receive a four-month sentence for a slap. Everything is just lies, victimization, turning the situation around, manipulating the masses, and using the media power that I have never had and will never have. He knows it and plays with it“, she wrote.
She continued, clarifying: “I used to think I was crazy because my mind had been turned upside down. And I’ve had enough! These actions carried out with impunity must stop. Let it be clear: I don’t want to air my private life in public. But the victim is me and my daughter, who witnessed everything. And I refuse to be portrayed as a violent woman and that the situation ‘got out of hand’. It’s false. When I lose consciousness, and on two occasions, it’s the cries of my daughter that ‘wake me up’. So no, it wasn’t a slap, no, we were not a violent couple.“
