In accordance with the 2023-2024 school and academic calendar, the Beninese school opened its doors on Monday, September 18, 2023. The Minister of Secondary, Technical, and Vocational Education addressed teachers, parents, and students a few hours before the classes resumed.

Be role models for your students and the craftsmen shaping the citizens and leaders of tomorrow,” recommended Yves Chabi Kouaro.
Regarding the students themselves, the minister wanted to let them know that the new school year is an exciting new chapter for them. “Do not fear the challenges that arise because every day at school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. Be punctual, diligent, obedient, curious, persistent, and never forget that your potential is limitless,” advised the minister.
The full message from the minister:
Dear Parents, Students, and Teachers…
After two full moons, the classrooms of Beninese schools will open in a few hours, marking the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
The impressive success rates recorded at the end of the 2022-2023 school year testify to a collective awareness and the government’s determination to restore the reputation of the Beninese educational system, even though much effort is still needed. The 2023-2024 school year, which is beginning, once again gives us the opportunity to improve and correct imperfections.
Dear parents,
The sacrifice resumes, and there is no need to remind you of your duty to your children, which is to provide them with the minimum educational tools and ensure their physical and mental well-being throughout the year. May the Lord assist you.
To the teachers,
Know that the education of your students rests on you. Not only are you teachers, but you are also educators. Be role models for your students and the craftsmen shaping the citizens and leaders of tomorrow. Do not forget that teaching is the most beautiful profession in the world. It is true that you need to be in good conditions to truly carry out your mission, and the government is aware of this and is working towards it. May God grant you good health to carry out your professional tasks successfully.
Dear students,
The new school year is an exciting new chapter for you. Do not fear the challenges that arise because every day at school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. Be punctual, diligent, obedient, curious, persistent, and never forget that your potential is limitless. The world needs your light to shine.
To everyone, I wish you a good 2023-2024 school year, and may God watch over our educational system.
