The national coach of Benin, Gernot Rohr, unveiled his list of selected players this Thursday to face Mozambique in September, as part of the 6th round of qualifiers for the CAN 2023.
Like other nations on the continent, Benin will be playing in September to qualify for the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Ivory Coast. The Cheetahs will travel to Maputo on September 9th to face Mozambique.
This match will be part of the 6th and final round of qualifiers for the tournament. Currently third in the Group L standings, just one point behind the Mambas (2nd), the Beninese team must secure all three points against Mozambique to secure their ticket to the Ivory Coast.
A significant challenge for the national coach Gernot Rohr, who has yet to record a victory on the field with the Beninese team. To achieve this monumental task, the Franco-German technician has called upon all his best players. Once again, the presence of Stéphane Sessegnon is noteworthy.
