Tina Glamour, the mother of the late DJ Arafat, has expressed her anger towards Ivorian artists Mako le King and François Kençy in a video that’s been circulating on social media.

The famous Ivorian artist, Tina Glamour, is currently very angered by the Ivorian artists Mako le King and François Kençy. These artists, in collaboration with two other musicians, formed a group called Collectif CAN 2023 to celebrate the football championship taking place in their home country. As part of this, they released a song titled “On a fermé leurs bouches” (We’ve Shut Their Mouths), aimed at cheering on the national football team, the Elephants.

Visibly upset, Tina Glamour has voiced her displeasure because these artists have altered the lyrics of “Djessimidjeka,” an emblematic song of her late son DJ Arafat, without obtaining her prior consent or that of the Arafat DJ Forever Foundation. This situation ignited her outrage, despite the song’s success and warm reception by the public. The original lyrics, “Champy Kilo, hey, you’re my buddy oh. They wanted to kill me, but I remain alive…” were transformed by the Collectif CAN 23 into: “Welcome to Ivory Coast, the country of Didier Drogba. Everywhere in the world 225, we’re confirmed. We are Champy Kilo, we’re not your mate. They wanted to test us, we’ve shut their mouths, kpa.

Highly indignant, La Madre voiced her frustration in a video published on social media: “Hello, everyone. Mako le King, so you think you’re above the law? You get up and take ‘Djessimidjeka’? Do you know where ‘Djessimidjeka’ comes from? When Arafat composed this song, he was in the hospital and I was there. And then, by what right? Today the name Arafat DJ, it’s protected where people’s names are protected (Note: African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI)). That’s why the Foundation was created. You can’t just get up like that to make a clip on Arafat or take his song. This problem is going to be resolved at BURIDA. François Kençy, I don’t know what’s going on. Don’t anger me, this morning,” she denounces.

For now, the two artists mentioned by Tina Glamour have not yet responded.
