Russia has requested a meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss Western arms deliveries to Ukrainian forces.
In Russia, the mission to the United Nations has informed that Moscow has scheduled a meeting of the UN Security Council for September 12th. “We have requested a meeting on the supply of Western arms to Ukraine and other factors that compromise the prospects for resolving the crisis in Ukraine and around it,” wrote Dmitri Polianski on his Telegram channel.
Furthermore, Reuters had reported earlier in the week that Washington had decided to provide arms containing depleted uranium to the Ukrainian armed forces. According to U.S. media, these munitions may come from Abrams tanks that are expected to be delivered to Ukraine in the coming weeks.
On September 6th, the Pentagon finally announced the arrival of a new batch of military aid to Ukraine, which will include depleted uranium ammunition. Additionally, the United Nations has expressed concerns about this decision.
