Rising Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has opened up about the loss of her eight-month-old child at birth.
Earlier this year, the actress made headlines following rumors that she was involved with a married man and was also pregnant with his child. Despite numerous inquiries from internet users flooding her social media page about the rumors, the actress refused to address them.
Additionally, Debbie refrained from sharing photos of her baby, even though some of her recent pictures indicated that she was expecting. In a video shared on her YouTube page on Friday, the actress recounted the loss of her child in the United States, which occurred over a month ago.
She shared that she had traveled with the hope of returning with her baby, but tragically lost the child at eight months. According to her, her family members encouraged her to move forward, and she is currently trying to let go and grieve in her own way.
Furthermore, she mentioned that she was rushed to the emergency room after discovering that the baby was no longer breathing and she had to be induced. Debbie also shared that she gave birth to her stillborn child while tearfully recounting the sacrifices she made during the pregnancy.
In one part of the video, she said, “I was rushed to the emergency, and that was when we found out the baby was not moving anymore and they had to induce me, and I gave birth to my dead baby, I carried my dead baby. Imagine a child I sacrificed so much for, went through a lot, and I didn’t tell anybody because I wanted to cry in my own way. I’m getting over it gradually. Please, the public should respect my marriage, it’s personal. Keep all the assumptions about my marriage to yourself.”
