On Thursday, August 10, 2023, Prime Minister Lamine Zeine Ali Mahamane, appointed by the military junta in Niger, formed the new government with 21 members, including two (2) Ministers of State and one Deputy Minister.
Niger has a new government team over two weeks after the coup that ousted President Mohamed Bazoum. Thus, the transitional Prime Minister Lamine Zeine Ali Mahamane will lead this government to address the urgent issues.
In this new team, there are personalities from various social classes of the Nigerien society, both civilian and military. While the ECOWAS is meeting on Thursday in Abuja to decide on the course of action to take in response to the crisis shaking Niger since the overthrow of Mohamed Bazoum on July 26, 2023, the formation of the government has taken place.
