A woman who had just given birth threw her newborn baby into the debris of a large drain in the Niangon-Lokoua neighborhood of the Yopougon district on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
According to Ainémon Banhie, Chief Warrant Officer of the Operations and Transmission Coordination Center (Ccot) of the Groupement des sapeurs-pompiers militaires (Gspm) of Indénié (Adjamé), the baby was a female.
The child was only a few hours old and still attached to the umbilical cord. The lifeless body was removed and handed over to a forensic doctor who confirmed the death. Furthermore, the police are investigating to identify the perpetrator and determine the responsibilities.
As a reminder, a second discovery was made in the same district, in Songon, five months after the first one.
