The Minister of National Education and Literacy, Mariatou Koné, has rejected the rumor that the 2023-2024 school year would be disrupted due to the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) organized in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2023.

For some time now, a rumor has been circulating online indicating that the 2023-2024 school year in Ivory Coast will be divided into two semesters due to the CAN taking place from January 13 to February 11. The rumor even specifies that this year, due to the Africa Cup of Nations, the Christmas holidays will extend from December 23, 2023, to February 11, 2024.

Mariatou Koné, the Minister of National Education and Literacy, has officially rejected this information.

As a reminder, from Monday, August 21 to Friday, September 8, 2023, the platform for transferring students to private general secondary education institutions for the 2023-2024 school year will be open. The DEEP and DESPS websites contain the procedure and various related forms.

According to Mariam Touré née Diarra, Director of Private Institutions Supervision (DEEP), interested students can contact the DEEP, located in front of the modern high school in Plateau, or the Regional Directorates of National Education and Literacy.
