On Thursday, July 27, 2023, the Secretary General 1 of the Man Prefecture, Ouattara Yacouba, launched the 8th edition of the “Secure Holidays” operation in the city of Man.
This operation, which has begun throughout the territory, will continue throughout the holidays, a period of massive population movement and the organization of various activities. “For this edition, it’s Secure Holidays number 8, and as a reminder, when it’s holiday time, we transition from ‘Operation Sparrowhawk’ to ‘Secure Holidays Operation.’ Secure Holidays is nothing more than what we do on a daily basis, but this time reinforced because during the holidays, many other ill-intentioned individuals are added to those we encounter on a daily basis,” said the police prefect, Ouattara Dongi Brahima.
For this edition, a contingent of over 3,500 members of the defense and security forces has been deployed throughout the region to bring peace to the populations. “I would like to thank you; the task is certainly not easy, it is true, but as the police prefect has pointed out, and it is often regrettable that during the holidays when we think of having healthy holidays, it is unfortunately the time when there are cases of theft,” deplored the Secretary General 1 of the prefecture.
Mr. Ouattara encouraged the forces present to carry out this mission with dedication and courage for a healthy holiday period throughout the Tonkpi zone, starting with the Man department. “We encourage you as authorities, we congratulate you so that the mission you are carrying out for us is well executed (…), may God accompany you on this mission and may everything go well and may these holidays take place in a healthy environment,” he continued.
Following the launch of the “Secure Holidays” operation, armed personnel will traverse crime-generating areas throughout the city and surrounding areas during day and night patrols, ensuring a peaceful and tranquil return for the populations, well-prepared.
