Sometimes, even after washing glasses with all possible care, they still retain an unpleasant smell when you want to drink from them. We offer you here some tips to completely eliminate these bad odors.

To get rid of these odors that can even make you feel nauseous, simply follow these quick steps, along with using these two ingredients:

  1. Fill a basin or your sink with boiling water (or hot water if you’re afraid your glasses might break), using a sink stopper so that the glasses are completely immersed once inside.
  2. Add the juice of one lemon or two cups of white vinegar to the water in your sink or basin.
  3. Let the glasses soak in the mixture for 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. Then, scrub them with a kitchen sponge or run them through the dishwasher, and let them air dry.
  5. Clean your kitchen sponge with which you wash your glasses.

Additional tips to prevent bad odors in your glasses:

  1. Avoid soaking your sponge in raw meat or poultry juice. Instead, use a paper towel to prevent the smell from contaminating your sponge.
  2. Wash your glasses with a clean sponge before using it on dishes containing food residues.
  3. After finishing your dishes, clean your sponge thoroughly. Hot water and soap will do the trick. Additionally, you can use white vinegar or baking soda, which are quite effective.

If your sponge still smells bad, replace it immediately before it contaminates other cutlery with bad odors and bacteria.
