A tragic explosion that occurred in a coal mine in the Shaanxi province, located in northern China, has resulted in the loss of 11 lives, according to information reported by state media. The incident took place on the evening of August 21, 2023, casting a dark shadow over the country’s mining industry.

The devastating explosion in the Shaanxi coal mine claimed the lives of 11 miners, while rescue operations worked to save lives among the 90 people present at the time of the accident.

The explosion occurred in the early evening as miners were working inside the coal mine. Among the victims, two individuals who had been severely injured tragically lost their lives after unsuccessful resuscitation attempts. Furthermore, nine other workers were found dead, trapped underground due to the magnitude of the explosion.
