This Wednesday, a disturbing event circulated on social media and sparked strong reactions. According to eyewitnesses, internet users reported that a woman apparently jumped out of a taxi and collapsed into the lagoon. The incident, which allegedly occurred on the third bridge, caused a significant online uproar. However, it appears that the shared information is not accurate.
This frightening story was quickly debunked by Police Secours, a security alert page. According to their statements, this situation is more based on false information that circulated on social media. According to the information provided by Police Secours, the circumstances were completely different from what was initially reported. The lady in question did not collapse on the HKB bridge, but was involved in a different situation.
“It would rather be, according to Police Secours, a lady who ejected herself from a vehicle around the Total station in the direction of Péage – Cocody,” the source states, while emphasizing that the lady was injured and quickly treated by firefighters.
At this stage, it is unknown why the lady left the vehicle. Investigators are trying to understand the circumstances that led to the incident near the Total station, in order to resolve any confusion surrounding this concerning situation. Unlike the sensationalist version, there was no jumping from the third bridge in Abidjan or plunging into the lagoon.
