The renowned Cameroonian singer, Mani Bella, actively participated in promoting Ivory Coast during the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in 2023. Through multiple posts, she highlighted the country’s attractions and hospitality, sharing her exhilarating experience with her online community.
The CAN 2023 served as a catalyst, bringing together various celebrities from the African continent, including influencers, football legends, artists, and actors, all becoming ardent promoters of Ivorian culture and heritage. Mani Bella, in particular, was warmly welcomed by her peers, including Molare and Apoutchou National, enabling her to enjoy memorable moments.
Beyond her presence at this major football event, Mani Bella self-appointed herself as an ambassador for the beauty of Ivory Coast, sharing her experiences on Facebook. After demonstrating her affection and her informal role in promoting Ivory Coast internationally, she expressed a desire to be officially recognized by the Ivorian authorities for her promotional efforts.
“I would say that I am the most Ivorian of Cameroonians. Because I do a lot of promotion of Ivory Coast. On my various platforms, I talk a lot about Ivory Coast. I do not speak of any other country the way I do about this one. Recently, during my stay in Ivory Coast, I did some tourism. I went to Yamoussoukro. I saw the Basilica. I also went to Bouaké. Taking pictures that I posted every time. I think that Ivory Coast should give me the order of value medal,” she indicates.
It should be noted that even before coming to Ivory Coast, Mani Bella had already made a similar plea at the start of the competition. In that request, she mentioned that the Ivorian government should give her an honorary medal as the best ambassador of Ivory Coast abroad. And the reason being, according to her, she works too hard and suffers a lot on Facebook.
