The Ivorian police have recently arrested two individuals involved in the illicit reselling of tickets for the matches of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023 near the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium.
Since the launch of the 32nd edition of CAN on January 13, 2024, the organizers have been facing difficulties with ticketing, particularly due to the infiltration of illegal resellers who feed a black market for tickets.
In response to this issue and following numerous complaints from supporters, the security forces have stepped up their efforts to put an end to these fraudulent practices.
The security operation carried out led to the arrest of two suspects on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in the vicinity of the Ivorian Press Agency in the Plateau district, close to the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium. A thorough investigation has been opened to dismantle the network involved in this case and to arrest all accomplices.
