After the official anthem of CAN 2023, composed by Magic System, Ivorian reggae celebrity Alpha Blondy reveals a new song. This track was created in collaboration with Roseline Layo, Didi B, and Soum Bill.
The African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023 will take place in Ivory Coast from January 11 to February 13, 2023. And for this grand event, an official anthem titled “Akwaba” has been composed by Ivorian zouglou group Magic System, Nigerian artist Yemi Aladé, and Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan.
Following the official song of this major football event to be held in Ivory Coast, Ivorian and African reggae legend Alpha Blondy, who does not want to be left out of the celebration, also unveils a new song for CAN 2023. This new track, created in collaboration with Didi B, Roseline Layo, and Soum Bill, is titled “Ayoka Africa”. The music video for this song was shot at the former venue named “Café de Versailles” in Jagger, Deux-Plateaux-7th District in Cocody. The news was announced through the publication of behind-the-scenes images on the various social media platforms of Alpha Blondy, Roseline Layo, Didi B, and Soum Bill.
It is worth noting that other Ivorian celebrities, such as Chantal Taïba, an Ivorian singer living in France, have remixed her song “Ayoo” released in 1984 in honor of the first CAN organized in Ivory Coast, which will be released soon. There is also Master Logan featuring Eyoyo who created “Africa’s Champion” and Fadel Dey who completed his own track titled “CAN Ambiance”.
