The renowned Cameroonian influencer, Mayole Francine, has once again been the target of harsh criticism from netizens following her recent media comments. This came after the stir caused by her statements during the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023 in Ivory Coast.
Mayole had already sparked a strong backlash when she shared her impressions of the amount of dust on the streets of the posh neighborhood of Cocody in Abidjan. A video that quickly went viral and caused an uproar on social media.
Following that event, during her appearance on the TV show “Paroles de femmes” (Women’s Words) on Equinoxe TV, a private television channel in Cameroon, Francine Mayole once again found herself at the center of discussions. The theme of the show was the hidden side of fame, a topic on which the influencer was able to share her personal experience.
And, as usual, she once again attracted the ire of the internet users with her comments. “I was born in Laquintinie. I was very bright at school. I got a baccalaureate in the arts in 2011. Currently, I am single […]. I really want a man, like my father, my brother, with whom I will talk. My husband my struggle. If he asks me to stop what I do, I will leave […]. I am ready to give up everything for the man of my life,” she said.
This new statement from Francine was not well received among Cameroonian personalities and celebrities. In the aftermath, the influencer Ruby la Millionnaire quickly took to the stage to respond to her, but also to give advice to women. “Never leave your job for a man. I mean never! Your job is your first husband,” she advised.
She follows the same line of thought as the Cameroonian columnist, Binkù. ‘’When you build your reputation on a good foundation, when you exercise a profession with determination and projection, when you neither snatch nor bewitch men to get by, you know that the man of your life will also love you for these qualities. Your values, your determination and focus at work, your vision and your objectives… All contribute to sweeten and strengthen his feelings,’’ she states.
