The CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries are in the spotlight this weekend with a clash between Loto Popo and Fus Rabat. On which channel can you watch this decisive clash live?
As the reigning vice-champions of Benin, Loto Popo will face the Moroccan club FUS Rabat in the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. The draw, conducted in Cairo, Egypt, placed the Loto Boys against an opponent that won the tournament in 2010 and had a strong season, securing third place in the Botola 1 (Moroccan top division). A monumental challenge for the Beninese team that has never reached the final phase of an African competition.
To watch this match live from the Prince Moulaye El Hassan Stadium starting at 8:00 PM, tune in to Mercato Foot, Matchs Directs, and Footdirect. Eurosport and Sofascore are also available options. Note that the match will take place this Sunday, August 20th, starting at 9:00 PM (GMT+1).
“Because in matches like these, if you go in with fear, you’ll be overwhelmed. You need to be free. We’re not the favorites, and from that moment on, we must play with great freedom and always keep the same objectives, which are to progress through this round. So, we’re working hard for that, hoping to create a surprise, knowing that we’re playing the first leg there and we’ll receive them for the return leg. The idea is to keep all our chances. We shouldn’t exhaust ourselves in the first leg and end up playing a return match with little at stake,” said Loto Popo’s coach, Abdoulaye Ouzérou.
