Algerian side ASO Chlef will clash with Nigerian club Bendel Insurance in this first round of the preliminary stage. Loto-Popo FC from Benin, which has been eliminated in the first round of previous African club competitions, will face Moroccan club FUS Rabat. It’s a tough opponent for the Beninese vice-champions, who will have to excel to hope for qualification to the next round.
Togolese club ASCK will face the Ivory Coast’s Amadou Diallo Football Academy (AFAD). Senegal’s CS de Ziguinchor will take on Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante. Ghana’s Dream FC will compete against Guinea’s Milo FC. The first leg matches of this first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup will be held on August 18, 19, and 20, 2023. As for the second leg matches, they will take place on August 25, 26, and 27.
