As the reigning champion of Benin, Coton FC will be playing this weekend to secure their spot in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The Coton Boys will travel to Ivory Coast on Sunday to face ASEC Mimosas in the return match of these qualifiers.
Having been held to a draw by the Ivorians (0-0) in Cotonou a week ago, the Ouidah-based club would secure their ticket to the next round with another draw but with goals. On the other hand, victory is imperative for the Mimosas to keep their hopes alive in the continental competition.
In the other matches of this first leg return, CS Constantine will face Étoile du Sahel in Tunisia on Saturday. Having lost 2-0 in the first leg, the Algerians need to turn the tables to continue their journey. A similar challenge faces AS Vita Club from the DRC, who must prevail over Primeiro de Agosto from Angola on Sunday at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, after their 1-0 defeat in Lubango last week.
