Two (02) Beninese individuals have been exposed by Burkinabe authorities following investigations carried out in collaboration with authorities in Benin. They are accused of forgery and use of false documents.
To enroll at the EPS Sainte Julie in Tenkodogo as nursing students, Mr. Denis A. A. and Mr. Joseph Comlan G. committed acts of “forgery and use of false documents,” according to the Burkinabe Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene. In a letter addressed to the founder of the Private Schools of Health (EPS) Sainte Julie, the Ministry stated that Denis and Joseph produced fake documents to pretend to be something they are not in reality.
Indeed, the EPS Sainte Julie attempted to have these two Beninese individuals, who have been part of its student body since 2019, sit for the 2022 national certification examination. However, this attempt was unsuccessful as investigations revealed that both individuals are actually teaching civil servants in Benin and attempted to prove otherwise by producing fraudulent documents.
“After verifying the administrative status of these two students with Beninese authorities, it emerged that Denis A. A. is a teacher at the General Education College of Gogonou and Mr. Joseph Comlan G. at the General Education College of Tohouè,” the Ministry’s letter reads.
According to the regulations in force in Burkina Faso, offending civil servants from Benin cannot enroll in schools in Burkina Faso, attend classes, participate in assessments, or undergo internships.
Sanctions against EPS Sainte Julie In addition to the situation involving the two Beninese civil servants, EPS Sainte Julie has been found guilty of other actions constituting violations of the decree and terms and conditions regarding the creation, opening, operation, and expansion of private health schools in Burkina Faso.
In accordance with the provisions of the same decree, the following sanctions are imposed on EPS Sainte-Julie:
a reprimand; the suspension of recruiting new students starting from the 2023-2024 academic year; the suspension of the functions of the founder of EPS Sainte Julie for a period of three (03) years; a total prohibition on creating and/or opening a Private Higher Education Institute.
