In this back-to-school period, Nicolas Sarkozy is very much in demand by the media. Indeed, the former President of the Republic has just published a new book, titled “Le Temps des combats” (The Time of Struggles), published by Fayard.

Released on August 22nd, the book is experiencing significant success, as revealed by the figures provided by the publishing house. In just one week, 23,631 copies of this account of his second term, from 2009 to 2011, have been sold.

This success, also evident during book signing events in France, filled the author of the book with admiration.

On the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Nicolas Sarkozy wanted to thank his female and male readers for their support and loyalty: “So touched! Thank you all for being there for Le Temps des Combats. Sharing has always been the deep meaning of my life. I am so grateful for this friendship and loyalty,” Nicolas Sarkozy responded, as quoted by gala.

Revelations by Nicolas Sarkozy In this second volume of his memoirs, Nicolas Sarkozy also paints portraits of certain personalities and discusses his perspective on the current political situation in France and internationally. He notably praised two members of the government. According to him, Gérald Darmanin possesses “obvious qualities” to launch a presidential campaign in 2027. He also highlighted the rigor and work capacity of Bruno Le Maire, the current Minister of the Economy and Finance.

In his book “Le Temps des combats,” Nicolas Sarkozy also spoke about his relationship with his former Prime Minister François Fillon during his presidential term. He confided: “The truth is that François Fillon was colder than I thought. He was probably biding his time… In his eyes, I never did enough.”
