A new fire incident caused damage in Cotonou on the afternoon of Thursday, January 25, 2024.
A Fiat van fell victim to flames around 2:00 pm at the PK3 intersection in Cotonou. According to reports from Bip Radio, the fire appears to have started in the vehicle’s engine, but the rapid response of the fire services enabled them to control the blaze.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time, fortunately escaped the incident without any physical harm. However, he laments the significant loss of property, including aluminum door and window frames that were onboard and have been reduced to ashes, representing a financial loss estimated at several million.
