Benin: On August 1, 2023, the country will commemorate the 63rd anniversary of its accession to international sovereignty. According to the government, this year’s edition promises many surprises for the population.

Preparations are well underway for the commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of Benin’s accession to international sovereignty. Providing an update on the preparations, the Deputy Secretary-General and government spokesperson, Léandre Wilfried Houngbédji, announced the aesthetic features that will characterize the official ceremonies. Addressing the media professionals, the head of government communication urged the public to come to the Place de l’Amazone to witness the high quality of organization.

According to Wilfried Houngbédji, since 2016, Beninese people have been increasingly interested in the country’s developments. “Now that Beninese people can see that we do things with great order, quality, and aesthetics, they are becoming more and more interested in what is happening,” the spokesperson emphasized.

Without revealing any details about the planned activities to mark the solemnity of the festivities, the Deputy Secretary-General and government spokesperson keeps the suspense, allowing Beninese citizens to discover the surprises that await them. “I invite you to the Place de l’Amazone,” he said. “Come and discover what has been prepared this year; you will not be disappointed,” reassured the head of government communication.

As a reminder, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, is the distinguished guest of President Patrice Talon on the occasion of this national celebration.
