A woman arrested for throwing her co-wife’s child into a 57-meter well. The incident occurred in Dogbo.
In Dogbo, in the Couffo department, a young girl fell victim to the disputes between co-wives. Unfortunately, she became the target of her father’s second wife. The stepmother likely held resentment towards the victim’s biological mother, who had just returned to the household after being sent away by their husband.
According to the account of events, the girl had been missing since the evening of Wednesday, August 16, and it wasn’t until the following day that her lifeless body was discovered. The gruesome discovery was made by local residents who were trying to draw water from the well.
As one of the last people seen with the victim, the stepmother quickly became a suspect. After undergoing intense questioning, she confessed.
According to Bip FM, the woman admitted to throwing the girl into the 57-meter well. Interestingly, in the initial hours of the victim’s disappearance, she had even joined her co-wife in search efforts.
