Through a post on his Facebook page, former Minister of Economy, Finance, and Nationalization Program, Komi Koutché, has expressed his moral support for the populations currently facing flooding due to the rising waters of the Niger and Ouémé rivers.

Enormous material damage and loss of human lives – this is how the situation is described for certain populations in the Collines and Northern regions of Benin who have been grappling with flooding caused by the rising waters of the Ouémé and Niger rivers in recent days.

Faced with this recurring disaster, Komi Koutché, former director of FNM, has used a social media post to show his compassion for those affected by this calamity.

“The past week in Benin, particularly for the northern populations, has been very challenging due to the effects of rising waters in almost all watercourses,” he empathizes.

It’s worth noting that authorities in the affected areas, as well as the government through its Minister of Interior in various announcements, have been sensitizing the population about the necessary precautions to avoid human tragedies.
