For the first time, an aerial parade is scheduled to take place during the National Day celebrations, which will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

As part of the preparations for the commemorative events of Benin’s Independence Day, the elements of the Beninese defense and security forces have announced some innovations. For the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of our National Day, the Beninese public will witness, for the first time, an aerial parade on August 1, 2023.

According to a press conference report on the preparations and organization of the military parade, more than 7 components of the military and paramilitary forces will participate in the parade. “A splendid parade of aerial assets of the army in the skies of Cotonou is planned,” announced the General Staff of the Beninese army.

This parade “will involve several helicopters newly acquired by the Beninese government for the benefit of the air forces. It is an innovation of President Patrice TALON’s administration and will be a major attraction for the general public, especially those who will be present at the Esplanade de l’Amazone.”
