Coton FC has officially announced the arrival of forward Idriss Bakari Abiodoun, who has signed a two-season contract with the reigning champions of Benin, coming from Ayema.

Idriss Bakari is also a player for Coton FC for the upcoming season. The versatile forward has signed a two-year contract with the reigning Benin champions from Ayema, valid until 2025.

This signing was expected for a few days and strengthens the team led by Victor Zvunka ahead of the upcoming clash against ASEC Mimosas in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League 2023-2024. The 24-year-old player is eager to compete in the continental competition, as he has never participated in such a tournament.

In addition to Bakari’s arrival, Coton FC has also officially confirmed other reinforcements this summer. Moïse Ogbon, an international U20 left-back, has also joined the Coton Boys, committing for two years. Similarly, Vanie Serge, an Ivorian left-back from Liberté FC in Niger, is now part of Coton FC’s squad.

The club is also focusing on the future by signing two young players under the age of 20: Obiaku Ifesinachi, a 19-year-old Nigerian winger from 36 Lions FC in Nigeria, and Nawas Sailou, a U17 international who has been training with the club since last season.

With these new recruits, Coton FC is gearing up for the upcoming season and hopes to achieve good performances in the CAF Champions League and national competitions.
