The Central Police Station of Cotonou has recently witnessed a change in leadership. Police Chief Commissioner Fulbert Sabi Konto has been appointed as the head of this institution by the 2nd Class Inspector General of Police, Soumaila Yaya, the Director-General of the Republican Police. This appointment was made on July 25, 2023.
Before his appointment, Fulbert Sabi Konto served as the Deputy Director of the Republican Police in the Littoral Department. He succeeds Police Major Commissioner Jules Patipe, who has been transferred to the Godomey District Police Station in the municipality of Abomey-Calavi, Atlantic Department.
Police Major Commissioner Jérôme Sahgui has been appointed as the interim deputy of Fulbert Sabi Konto. Prior to this appointment, Jérôme Sahgui was serving in the Human Resources Directorate of the Republican Police.
Furthermore, changes have also been made in some district police stations in Cotonou. The 9th District Police Station of Cotonou will now be headed by Police First-Class Commissioner Ryade Adam, who was previously stationed at Unit of Operations No. 1. The 13th District Police Station of Cotonou will be led by Police First-Class Commissioner Yaya Baparape.
