A young scammer posing as a magistrate has been caught by the Republican Police in Bohicon.
According to information from Telegram, the impostor targets households where one of the members is involved in a legal proceeding. Posing as a fake magistrate, he offers his assistance to help their loved ones get out of legal trouble.
On Tuesday, September 19th, the police put an end to his activities after he had extorted 100,000 CFA francs from a family whose member was detained in a case involving 800,000 CFA francs. Suspecting foul play, they alerted the police, who apprehended the fake magistrate.
Taken to the police station, he confessed to the crimes and implicated other members of the network he had established within the courthouse, who provide him with information about litigants.
