Former President of the Constitutional Court, Robert Dossou, to name him, is not satisfied with the political governance under the regime of change. He shared his opinion on this governance on Sunday, July 23rd, during the “De vous à nous” show on Peace Fm.
According to him, democracy is not well accommodated under the rule of President Patrice Talon. This is the position shared by the former President of the Bar Association of Benin. While he acknowledged positive aspects of the country’s economic governance under Patrice Talon, he believes that the political governance is a failure.
In his view, in 7 years of governance, the President of the Republic has undermined democracy. According to the former President of the Constitutional Court, Beninese democracy is undermined because it is no longer full and complete and is not in line with the principles proclaimed by the national conference.
Robert Dossou believes that the Rupture government has arranged to “put obstacles to prevent the full development of democracy” and “to establish the new regime,” his regime. He urges the head of the executive to remove the obstacles and break the barriers deliberately placed to prevent the flourishing of democracy.
The lawyer is against the style of governance that says, “Be silent! I am developing the country for you, don’t bother me.” He pleads for a return to the achievements of the National Conference of the Nation and the restoration of freedom of expression.
