Arrested and presented to the special prosecutor of the court for the repression of economic and terrorist offenses, 27 suspected cybercriminals have been detained at the Missérété prison since Wednesday.
On September 6, 2023, the Central Office for the Repression of Cybercrime presented 30 suspected cybercriminals to the special prosecutor of the court for the repression of economic and terrorist offenses. After interrogation, 27 online fraudsters were remanded to prison.
They are being prosecuted for internet fraud. These 27 young alleged cybercriminals have joined the ever-increasing number since the police launched an uncompromising fight against online fraud. But despite the police’s determination, the problem seems to persist.
