A 14-year-old boy died over the past weekend due to drowning, swept away by runoff waters. The tragedy occurred in the Zongo neighborhood in Ouèssè-Centre, in the Collines department.
The young boy fell into a drainage channel during the rain on Sunday, August 13. His lifeless body was found in a neighboring area about a kilometer away from the incident site a few days after the tragedy.
According to reports, the victim was disposing of waste in a drainage channel designed to manage runoff water when he lost his balance and ended up in the channel.
The runoff water resulting from the rain carried away the adolescent’s body, which was found lifeless in the neighboring neighborhood.
