The Nigerian Customs boss is announced to be in Cotonou on this Monday, July 24, 2023, as part of a working visit.
The Director-General of Nigerian Customs, Bachir Adewale Adeniyi, will arrive in Cotonou in a few hours. He will lead a delegation from the Nigerian customs administration for a working session with his counterpart from Benin, Alain Hinkati.
During the meeting, both parties will discuss new strategies to promote trade between the two neighboring countries while combating fraudulent activities.
Throughout his stay in Cotonou, Bachir Adewale Adeniyi will visit the facilities of certain structures involved in trade in Benin. He is expected to visit the Single Window for Foreign Trade (Guce), Benin Control to observe the functioning of the scanning and tracking system for goods, and finally the Port of Cotonou.
After the series of visits, the Nigerian Customs DG will meet with economic operators and authorized customs brokers from Benin, as reported by Le Matinal.
Audience at the Minister of Economy and Finance’s office As per the established schedule, Bachir Adewale Adeniyi will not leave Cotonou without meeting with the national treasurer. He and his delegation will be received in an audience by Romuald Wadagni, Minister of State for Economy and Finance.
The visit of the Nigerian Customs DG will conclude in the evening with a wrap-up meeting with Alain Hinkati and the issuance of a joint statement.
